Kundapur, Sep 22: A youth running a mobile phone shop here has alleged that a six-member gang kidnapped him and robbed money and valuables from him.
Musthafa (34), a native of Arehole in Byndoor taluk, and presently residing in a flat in Kundapur, was kidnapped by the gang.
He has filed a complaint at Kundapur police station alleging that one Mukthar and five others kidnapped him and looted Rs 4,64,175 lac cash, items worth Rs 1 lac and valuable records from him.
According to Musthafa, he runs a mobile shop 'Mobile X' on chicken stall road in Kundapur. On September 17, at 9.30 pm, while Mustafa was returning to his residence after closing the shop, with Rs 50,000 cash, Aadhar and PAN Card, four cheque books, valuable records, IPhone, Samsung mobile phone, Apple smart watch and air pod on his bike. He alleged that Mukthar along with other unidentified accused came in a Swift car. A youth who got down from the car assaulted Musthafa and dragged him inside the car. Another unidentified accused who was in the car pointed a pistol towards Musthafa and threatened to kill him. The other accused assaulted Musthafa on his face and covered his mouth and tied his hands, kidnapped him and took him to Bengaluru. On the way, a lady and two people from a lodge accompanied the accused.
Musthafa further said that in the lodge, the lady used Mustafa's SIM card to call his family members and demanded to deposit Rs 1 lac cash to Musthafa's account. She also transferred cash from Mustafa's bank account to her account using his phone. While travelling from Kundapur to Bengaluru, Rs 3,14,175 was withdrawn using ATM card and swiping machines. Later, the accused forced Musthafa to sign on the Axis Bank cheque books they robbed from him. Musthafa also alleged that the accused threatened him to deposit cash to his account in return of documents and other things. Totally the accused have looted Rs 4,64,175 and things worth Rs 1 lac, he said.
Later the accused continued demanding cash and did not return the documents. On September 18, the accused freed Mustafa. He managed to reach his native with the help of his friends, added Musthafa.
