Udupi: Santhosh D’Silva re-elected president of KCMA for 2021-22

Uudpi, Sep 28: Sathosh Dsilva, owner of Santhosh Cashews, Karkala, has been unanimously re-elected as president of Karnataka Cashew Manufacturers Association for the year 2021-2022. The decision was taken at the 66th annual general body meeting, held on Friday, September 24.

Santhosh Dsilva is active in many social activities, mainly in JCI Karkala and he keeps engaging himself in service oriented programmes.

In his acceptance speech he emphasized on the need to make our state more self-sufficient in cashew cultivation as well as increase our share in domestic and International markets.

Santosh D'Silva is a native of Nitte, Karkala. He is the proprietor of D'Silva traders, Santhosh Industries, Santhosh Cashews, and PASS Industries.

Santhosh D'Silva is well known for his social activities in JCI Karkala, and other service-minded organizations. Speaking as the president of KCMA Santhosh D'Silva emphasized the efforts on increasing raw cashew nut production as the cashew processing industry in Karnataka is growing at a 20 percent growth rate pace year on year.

Currently, Santhosh D'Silva is serving as the president of Karavali Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Udupi, president of the alumni association of Dr NSAM PU College, NITTE, vice-president of St Lawrence Basilica Attur parish pastoral committee, a life member of Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association Bengaluru, and as the patron member of the District Small Industries Association - Udupi.

He was a committee member of the Committee Administration of The Cashew Export Promotion Council of India, under the ministry of Commerce, Government of India, from 2013- 2016.

In 2003, Santhosh D'Silva was awarded the outstanding youngest entrepreneur by Syndicate Bank. In 2007, the best outstanding president award was presented to Santhosh for his service as president of JCI Karkala, zone 15, JCI India. Santhosh Dsilva is a recipient of the Young Entrepreneur Business Award by the Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Mumbai, Udyama Ratna Business Award by zone 15, JCI India and many others.

Joint Secretary- Amith Pai of Amith Cashew Industries, Udupi

The following of the members were elected to the managing committee:

Ganesh Hegde, Krishna K N, Madhav Kamath, Pandurang Nayak, Varadaraj Pai, Sampath Shetty, Shashidhar Shetty, Mithun Nayak, Dileep G, Noel Mathias, Pramod Kamath Sanath Pai, Kashinath Shenoy, A K Rao, Yogish Mallya Shuklambar Prabhu, Rohith Kamath, Prasad Kamath, Srinivas Hegde, Ashok Kamath and Ashok Kamath.
