Really sad end to a fairly long life. There is no mention of her daughter, grand children. Hope she was not made to feel burdensome in the house. Presence of family should have helped.

Owing to better living conditions and medical care, the life expectancy is going up in the world. In India, 90% of senior citizens have zero balance in their bank accounts. Owing to various factors, children are unable to provide food and all needed care of their parents. Older adults may experience reduced mobility, chronic pain, frailty or other health problems, for which they require some form of long-term care. In addition, older people are more likely to experience events such as bereavement, or a drop in socioeconomic status. All of these stressors can result in isolation, loneliness or psychological distress, for which they may require long-term care. Depression can cause great suffering and leads to impaired functioning in daily life. St. Theresa of Kolkata said there is acute lack of love in households today.

Santan, At last I read the voice of reason. Long life imposes severe mental problems and it is only as a last resort when they can take it no more, and even God doesn't listen to their call to take them to His abode, do they take the extreme step which God refuses to do.

"hope govt brings petrol prices down immediately. .otherwise more people will die of consuming petrol" real kujuma, kodial, your comment suggests people can afford expensive petrol but when it becomes less expensive they wont be using it for what ever the purpose good or bad. Strange analogy. Om Shanthi

Damoder Thonse, dear young man ,I feel soon you too are in the verge of drinking it by your politics even in a sad news.Best is keep away Petrol from you and sick people.Hard to hear the news.People who get sick with mental balance ,should be looked after carefully. One should be always be in house for unnecessary happening.get away from house or do things with fire or liquids.May her soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathy to her family.
