Mumbai: 20 Inmates of Adharwadi prison in Kalyan test positive

Mumbai, Oct 19: Jail authorities of Adharwadi prison in Kalyan informed that 20 inmates in the prison have tested positive for coronavirus.

Jail superintendent Ankush Sadafule said that they are admitted to the Civil hospital in Thane. In total 150 inmates were tested for corona and 20 turned positive.

All the 20 who have tested positive were sent to prison of late. Meanwhile the state tally of new cases on Monday was 1485. The fatality rate is 2.2 percent. There were 27 deaths, which took the total tally of deaths due to Covid to 1,39,816.

All over the country only 13596 new cases were reported. This is the lowest in the past 230 days.
