Rs 7 sales tax cut on petrol, diesel by Karnataka government

Bengaluru, Nov 4 (IANS): Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai announced to reduce the Karnataka Sales Tax (KST) on petrol and diesel by Rs 7 each as a Diwali gift to the people of the state.

The late Wednesday night decision followed the Central government's announcement of a drop in prices of petrol and diesel.

Welcoming the Centre's move, Bommai said in a tweet that his government's decision to reduce the KST would cost Rs 2,100 crores to the state exchequer.

This price reduction will come into effect from Thursday evening.

In Karnataka, a tax of Rs 59 was levied, consisting of Rs 32.9 in central additional excise duty (AED) and 35 per cent in the state sales tax (on the amount of Rs 41.8) and AED. In total, there will be a reduction of Rs 17 per litre of diesel and Rs 12 for petrol.

Before the cut by the Central government, petrol was sold at Rs 113.93 in Bengaluru and diesel at Rs 104.50.

by looking at some of the comments, it is clear that worry is not about petrol or diesel price..... they were very happy if BJP loses in election by increasing petrol price!! Now that some reduction is happening the real worry is what if BJP wins!!! they have to keep posting more frustrating comments from 2024 to 2029.... Frustration is understandable. They want Pappu to be back and money laundering expert like chidambaram back to real loot feast.

A Donkey used to carry 70 kg uphill. It's owner increased the weight to 100 kg. Donkey struggled but continued to climb. After a few days, the owner increased the weight to 120 kg. The donkey resisted and refused to work. So the owner reduced the weight 115 kg. Now donkey is happy and will vote for the same owner in 2024,

If we need more cuts in fuel prices, now we all know what to do,, No protests, social media postings or any speeches going to work. The only weapon to bring down the fuel prices will be DO NOT CAST YOUR VOTE TO BJP IN NEXT ELECTION ( UP).

Price cuts fuel... Shri Bommai got a wake up call in the electoral loss in his home district ..more also ...electoral losses .. for bjp across states .... so loosing is beneficial for common man ..as far as reductions in fuel prices.. BJP shockingly has lost deposits in some assembly seats .. so all congress Mukth ../ Opposition mukth ... Suddenly rethink .. All waves eventually die out ..

First increase from Rs70 to Rs113 make good money for the coming election and then reduce Rs12. All pre planned loot. Now Andha bhakts and doggy media very happy. But still price is RS100. why they dont bring down to 70 or 80 then we can say it is good. By reducing they are not doing any favour for common man

This comment for Sanjay, Hebri in reply to his comment on the same topic that published yesterday around 8.47. Sanjay ji, not all majoroties vote for BJP nor all minorities vote on religion basis. Normally, people want a government who work towards the development and overall progress for the country. So, people give a chance and see. I know there are people from minorities who voted for bjp and also some people from majority voted for JDS/CONGRESS during the 2nd term. Such sudden hikes in everything affect all the people majorities as well as minorities. Citizens see the overall progress in every field and accordingly vote for the betterment of our country. Same way, in minorities too there are veg, non eaters of beef. Same way, in majorities too there are beef eaters. Though we say, brahmins are pure veg...some of them eat non veg too....All different categories build a society. According to you, all majorities voted for BJP and they why govt put into trouble majority people only? Isnt it cheating ? You may not have problems financially..how about others ?
