Bengaluru: Fuel prices plummeted because BJP was defeated, says D K Shivakumar

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Nov 5: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president D K Shivakumar on Thursday November 4 said that prices of petrol and diesel were brought down in recognition of the power wielded by the voters.

"The results of the bypolls all over the nation have proved the power of the voters in a democratic system. After the result showed adverse imlpact, the governments reduced oil prices," he said.

He demanded to bring down LPG price and to create employment opportunities as promised by the Prime Minister. He said that the Congress party will launch a drive to create awareness among the people all over the nation from November 14 onwards till prices of all essentials including the LPG are slashed.

Shivakumar said that the people of the chief minister Basavaraj Bommai's home district have given their verdict after observing the achievements of the CM during his 100-day rule, in the form of defeat of BJP candidate.

He dismissed the claim that the fuel price reduction was a Diwali gift. "In fact, the fuel prices should be in the range of Rs 50 to 60 a litre. There should be reduction in the prices of iron and cement in addition to provisions and items of daily use," he said.

He also said that a lot of people are waiting to join the Congress.

Leader of the opposition, Siddarmaiah, thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for showing to the world that petrol and diesel prices fall if the BJP is defeated. He asked the voters to continue to defeat the BJP in successive elections to ensure that prices of essentials go down.

Jossey Saldanha, Thane : Its ur wish to consider anyways... But i dont want to ask you the same in return as i can understand u like the gulam giri for life long of one fly. Atleast coming election let them make someone else from fake Gandhi fly (supposed to be Khan fly and now calling themself as Gandhi fly) as PM Candidate. If they do that i will be the first to vote them and will start supporting if they do any good work. Also, I have not supported all the works of Current govt (supporting just CAA and NRC, the military related work, the bridge / tunnel construction in many places especially there is a need for military to move, RERA. The RERA has been mostly opposed by Congress, as the dhamak was disturbed with RERA) unlike you people always support congress even if they do wrong.

Where there is a will there is a way. The reduction in the fuel prices after the defeat of the BJP clearly proves that if the government wants to slash the prices, it can very well do so. Now it is up to the people to decide what they want. Do they want the BJP to continue and pay a high price for the fuel or do they want to send this government packing so that the prices are reduced. BJP hatao, desh bachao.

It is not allowed to reduce price by reduction of taxes before election as it is violation as per EC. This DKS should know this at least by now as he himself projects as CM candidate.....

Jossey Saldanha: Which country the Deisel or Petrol price is 35? i hope you are folowing other countries where the petrol or deisel produced themself.. for ex: UAE the deisel price is 2.80AED today which cost nearly 60 rupees. Jordan it costs around 65 rupees (0.615 Jordanian dollars)... Dont comment simply for the sake of commenting and opposing some one.. really the gulams have so much problems since 2014 and whoever say something good about current govt then name them as Andh Bhakths... I know now many will comment in the same way for me as well, without thinking for whom i have voted.

@D'Souza, No Bus or Airline will reduce Fares, because everyone has got used to Fekugiri since 2014. Once elections in the North are over, things will be back to ZERO. Keep defeating BJP in all elections, so that Modi will no more be able to take us for a ride with his own version of lies. Jai Hind!!!!
