Bantwal, Nov 5: In an incident which happened in Ramanagara in Kallige village in the taluk on Wednesday November 3, a woman was assaulted by her own daughter and other relatives on account of some pre-existing animosity. Another person who had come to the lady for some other purpose was also roughed up.
Ranjini, residing in karavali site in Ramanagara was the person who happened to be at the receiving end of the aggression. Ranjini has filed a police complaint. She said that she has been running a hotel in partnership with a person named Lawrence D'souza since the last four years. Lawrence had visited Ranjini to discuss financial issues.
At that time, Ranjini's nieice, Jyoti Pallavi, Sujal, and nephew, Manan, assaulted Lawrence. Jyothi Pallavi called her mother, Saraswathi, to infirm her that they would be attacking Ranjoni. Saraswathi, Pushpa and Ranjini's daughter, Anisha, together used abusive words against Ranjini, kicked her out of her house, and beat her with a wooden piece, it is said. They also threatened to stab her with a knife. Ranjini claimed that her husband encouraged the attackers and sided with them.
Bantwal town police personnel have registered a case and the probe has been taken up.
