Bengaluru, Nov 17: There is a chance of making certain changes relating to the second PU half yearly examinations like college level evaluation of answer sheets, holding half yearly exams for first and second PU classes together etc.
The department has contemplated preparing a state level question paper for the half yearly second PU exam and to get the answer sheets also evaluated at the state level just like the annual exam. But the organizations of lecturers had strongly opposed the idea. In this connection, the officials of the department of PU education held a meeting with the office bearers of PU lecturers and principals association on Tuesday November 16 in which several issues were discussed.
The representatives of the organizations demanded that the half yearly answer sheets should be evaluated at the college level, and first and second PU exams should be held together. They also came up with a few more demands. As the issues raised by the lecturers were found to be reasonable, there was assurance to consider them favourably. Therefore, there is expectation that the time table of the exam which has already been drawn up might be changed.
Sources in the education department said that another meeting is being held today in which the officials of the department will hold discussions with the district deputy directors of public instruction in which current situation in urban and rural colleges, how far have the classes been conducted etc will be pooled and then a decision will be taken to either change or partially modify some of the proposals.
