Mangaluru, Dec 8: The police have claimed that the suicide of a man and murder of wife and two kids through poisoning were backed by family squabbles and the fear of religious conversion.
The husband, it is learnt, had got drunk and assaulted his wife in October this year. She had deserted him. A missing complaint was filed in October as his wife went missing after she alleged domestic violence. Later she came to the police station saying she was living with a lady known to her and agreed to enter into a compromise with her husband. Later, the two had come together at the police station where they agreed to live harmoniously.
In the light of the incident, Noor Jan, owner of the house where the woman was working, has been taken into custody. In the death note, the man had mentioned that he was taking this extreme step as he was afraid that his wife would opt for religious conversion. The police said that Noor Jan has been taken into custody for questioning..
It is said that Vijayalaxmi was in close contact with Noor Jan and therefore her husband was having a feeling that she might get converted.
In addition to the death note, a voice note was sent to ASI where the husband has blamed Noor Jaan for the extreme step.
