Mangalore: Sangeeta Parishat Holds Classical Music Festival in City

Mangalore, Nov 25: The Sangeeta Parishat in association with Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and Mangalore University has jointly organized Sangeetotsav (music festival) at the Ravindra Kalabhavan, University College here between November 24 and 28.

The function was inaugurated by Sharavu Raghavendra Shastry, managing trustee, Sharavu Mahaganapathy Temple followed by vocal concert by R K Srikantan, Bangalore and his son Prof Ramakanth on Wednesday November 24. Corporation Bank General Manager S M Swathi, Mangalore University Registrar Dr K Chinappa Gowda and Udayavani Vice President Anand were the chief guests.

Shenkottai Hari-harasubramaniam presented a vocal concert at 6.00 pm.

Sangeeta Parishat honorary president Prof K M Kaveriappa, Karnataka Bank managing director P Jayaram Bhat will be the guests at the valedictory programme. Senior mridangam artiste K Harishchandran of Mangalore will be felicitated on the occasion. Priyanka K P and Shreevibhu will be conferred ‘Young Talent Award’.
