Mangaluru/Udupi, Dec 13: Dakshina Kannada on Monday, December 13, reported 19 new coronavirus while Udupi registered 3 cases.

As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 23,32,878 samples have been tested so far, out of which 22,16,797 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,16,081 out of which 144 are currently active.

As many as 21 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,698.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,09,39,570 as fine in 90,453 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 13,16,972 samples have been tested so far.

A total of 3 new cases were reported on Monday, taking the total number of cases to 76,961 out of which 53 are currently active.

A total of 5 patient were discharged from hospitals on Monday. Coronavirus has claimed 477 lives in the district so far.

So far 9,50,011 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 7,74,809 have received the second dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
