Haveri: Relatives abduct 98-year-old woman for property, CCTV footage goes viral

Daijiworld Media Network - Haveri (SP)

Haveri, Dec 16: In an inhuman incident reported from Balambeed village in Hangal taluk in the district, a 98-year-old woman was kidnapped by her relatives with an eye on her property. The kidnapped lady has been identified as Devakka Nemeshappa Dundannavar. She was staying with Manikappa Dundannavar of the said village.

The scene of the relatives physically carrying the nonagenarian on their shoulders was captured by CCTV cameras. The clip has become viral in the social media. Allegedly, the children of the brother of the lady's husband took her away with an eye on her 7.36 acres of land.

The old lady had been taken care of by Manikappa Dundannavar when she was very sick. He had looked after her and met all her needs for the last three decades. It is said that the lady had, in token of her gratitude, transferred the land standing in her name to Manikappa. Bharatesh, son of Manikappa, said in his police complaint that the children of the lady's brother-in-law took her away as they were angry at her action in transferring land to Manikappa.

When they see money that is theirs and they haveto leave it behind, there is a saying that even a dead man opens his mouth. Here the relatives were dead for 30 years and now they figure this is the last chance to grab rather than their uncle taking it all. Rivalry ... greed ... are deadly pathaks.

Hello.. Marle, why did she need that other man at all, when her Brother-in-law and his children were there ? Now that the other man has taken care of her for thirty years, how come the family is awake after so many years ? Yes, the man did what the Old Age Homes do, but the family is greedy, thirsty of her property. Trying their best that she dies in their house so that they can claim her property saying that they took care of her till she died. I am not taking advantage of the situation but reminding you of your double standards !

Aren't you the very people who were giving Matra-devo-bhava advice to those who place their parents in ola age homes and go abroad for work ? Talk now, selfish slugs, explain the treatment meted to this old lady who gave her possessions to the man who helped her in need ! Scoundrels are fit for only blowing trumpet about others !

Rename yourself as an Opportunist deshbakt. You just referred to one side of the story but you did not refer to the other side of the story "The old lady had been taken care of by Manikappa Dundannavar when she was very sick". Opportunist Scoundrels like you are fit for only blowing trumpet unnecessarily and hurting religious sentiments by these kind of unethical and selfish comments.
