Customs seizes gold worth over Rs 36 lac from woman passenger at Mangaluru airport

Mangaluru, Dec 16: The customs officials seized 739 grams of gold, from a woman passenger at Mangaluru International Airport on Thursday December 16.

The woman passenger had arrived to Mangaluru Airport from Dubai on an Air India flight.

The woman is a resident of Talangere in Kasargod. Seized gold is 24 karat is valued at Rs 36,43,270.

The passenger had concealed the gold in paste form in a grey paper in her innerwear, informed the officials.

    she converted all her savings amassed while working in the Middle East, in the form of gold paste, now it's all gone. Lesson to smugglers; try fool-proof (or smuggle-o=proof) methods to slip through, such as going through another country and buy separate ticket.
