Dec 16: Dakshina Kannada reports 15 corona cases; Udupi records 3 infection

Mangaluru/Udupi, Dec 16: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, December 16, reported 15 new coronavirus while Udupi registered 3 case.

As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 23,51,412 samples have been tested so far, out of which 22,35,292 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,16,120 out of which 156 are currently active.

As many as 16 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,698.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,09,62,070 as fine in 90,678 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 13,24,599 samples have been tested so far.

A total of 3 new cases were reported on Thursday, taking the total number of cases to 76,967 out of which 28 are currently active.

A total of 4 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday. Coronavirus has claimed 477 lives in the district so far.

So far 9,51,626 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 7,83,142 have received the second dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
