Mangaluru/Udupi,Dec 17: Dakshina Kannada on Friday, December 17 reported 19 new coronavirus cases.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,16,144 out of which 161 are currently active.

As many as 14 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday, taking the total number of recoveries to 114285.

The death in the district on Friday is nil. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,698.

The district administration has collected Rs 1,09,66,970 in fines for 90,727 mask violations.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 13,25,882 samples have been tested for the second wave of coronavirus.

As many as 5 new cases were reported on Friday, taking the total number of cases to 76,972 out of which 28 are currently active.

A total of 5 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday, taking the total number of recoveries to 76,467 for the second wave.

The second wave of coronavirus has claimed 287 lives in the district.
