Mangaluru: Five cases of Omicron confirmed in two educational institutions

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (DV)

Mangaluru, Dec 18: Five new cases of Omicron were confirmed in the district on Saturday December 18.

Five of these cases are from two cluster outbreaks of Covid in two different educational institutions in Dakshina Kannada region, tweeted Health minister K Sudhakar tweeted. He also said that a traveller from the UK is also tested positive for Omicron.

Deputy commissioner (DC) Dr K V Rajendra said these are old clusters, and the reports of the samples sent for genomic studies have come on Saturday December 18.

He further informed that the samples of the first cluster from a school on the outskirts of Mangaluru was sent to genomic study on December 10. “The report received on December 18 mentioned that four samples got positive for omicron. All these four cases are negative now. Health officials visited the students on December 18 and all are healthy now,” he said.

The DC also clarified that there was no history of travel to Kerala or international destinations either from students or parents in the cluster one.

“As many as 19 samples from the second cluster from a nursing college in Mangaluru were sent to genomic study on December 10. One out of them, who was identified with omicron variant, is healthy now. Also, there is no travel history in this case too,” said the DC.

Reports coming in from West and Africa- no person in hospitals from the new variant and double & triple jabbed are getting tested positive. Stop the tests of healthy people with derecognised RTPCR by US FDA which needs to be discontinued after December this year as the approval got discontinued for renewal. No kids got the infection or suffered from past variants which means they are safe and no need for any unscientific mandates or lockdowns which are only imposed to market vaccines which have failed their claims as data from all countries prove they didn't prevent infections or protect any from getting serious and admittance into hospitals. 86 % of patients in hospitals and death rates are higher among double and triple jabbed. Our natural immunity is the only saviour with 99.997% survival rate.

It was expected. Government should implement strict rules for social distancing. We, as a society, need to adhere to the COVID norms and see that all are vaccinated. Special attention needs to be given to the children. They are vulnerable to the new variant. There will not be another lockdown but there should strict containment zones. Also, it is my humble request to the public not to panic and spread fear. Instead, bring positivity, carry on with your daily routine activities, wear masks, wash hands, eat and maintain a healthy lifestyle, enjoy life. The variant is not as severe as Delta but we must not keep our guards down.

I doubt vaccine doesn't work for omicron ... Till now vaccine are done to increase the ability to detect the virus as it was escaping the detection . But now , because of vaccine for Covid it took another form or mutations in the spike which shows that vaccine won't work.. because vaccine which was made mostly detects the spike .
