Mangaluru, Dec 19: A fire erupted at a commercial building in the heart of the city in the wee hours of Sunday December 19.

The fire erupted at City Market commercial complex located at Central Market here at around 3 am.

It is learnt that the fire spread to at least two shops, one dealing with electricals and the other selling bags and footwear. Both the shops were gutted.

One of the shop owners is from north India, sources said.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, however, it is suspected to have occured due to short circuit in one of the two shops.

We were devastated MY family was in penury. We somehow survived and later my father has to start it all over again. We must always take precautions against fire hazards. I am surprised you did not blame "you know who" for this incident. And I am really surprised you did not mention how the number of shops catching fire in Central market has increased after "2014"
