Mangaluru, Dec 19: Dr Kavitha D'Souza's Yogini Hospicare consisting of a range of health services and amenities including Yogini medical, laboratory, aesthetics, gynaecology, cosmetic surgery and free medical camp, was inagurated at Adyar here on Sunday December 19. Dr Kavitha D'Souza is the wife of former MLC Ivan D'Souza.

Superior of Capuchin Friary, Farangipete, Fr Jerald Lobo blessed the premises.

Addressing the gathering, Fr Jerald Lobo said, "Serving people is everyone's responsibility. We earn blessings of god by serving people. Hospital takes the first place in serving people. Human beings face a lot of health issues and hospitals serve people who are unwell and need help to recover. There was a need for a hospital in Adyar as as we had to go all the way to Mangaluru for treatment. In Pavoor Uliya, where residents are dependent on boat, they face a lot of trouble to shift the sick to Mangaluru for treatment. Now this hospicare is one kilometer away from Pavoor Uliya, which will help people."

Khatib of Kannur Masjid, C M Ansar said, "Apart from politics, Ivan D'Souza has been engaged in social work and helping people. Opening a hospicare at Adyar has helped the local people in accessing treatment. People in parts of Farangipete, Pavoor Uliya and Adyar had to go to Mangaluru for treatment, but now Yogini Hospicare is just 2 to 3 kilometers away where people can get treatment.

Owner of Yogini Hospicare Dr Kavitha D Souza, owner of Adyar Garden Jayaram Sheka, president of Adyar gram panchayat Zeenath, and Dr Nithesh Bhandary were present.

Ivan D'Souza welcomed the gathering while Melvin Vaz compered the event.
