Mangaluru, Dec 20: Police have arrested a youth in connection to the suicide case of 25 year-old-girl MBBS intern here on Monday December 20.

Ullal police have arrested the accused Sujish (24), a native of Palakkad and booked him under IPC section 306.

It is said that the girl ended her life over love failure. Both the youth and victim both were pursuing their MBBS in the same batch. After their breakup in the relationship, both were depressed. While the youth had gone to his native, the girl ended her life.

It may be recalled, Vaishali Gaikwad (25), daughter of Vijaykumar Gaikwad, a resident of Anandnagar, Bidar district, allegedly died by suicide at her apartment here on Sunday December 19.

It is gathered, Sujish and Vaishali were pursuing their MBBS degree in a private medical college. With differences among them, both were in a depressed state. The accused had gone to his native a month ago.

On Sunday, Vaishali allegedly ended her life in her flat at Kuthar junction.

After meeting Sujish, Vaishali's phone was switched off. When her friends visited the flat on Sunday, the doors were shut.

When the doors were opened, it came to light that Vaishali had died by suicide. The police had taken Sujish into custody soon after.

I am not commenting on them. I am commenting on TASTE. If I was girl, I would remain a spinster. If I want a doctor, I would go to one who is "Groomed".

girl was 25 and started talking about marriage plans with the "so called lover"... the "lover" might have given excuses proposing to continue "lust affair" but not marriage... suicide of girls should be subject to post-mortem to see whether she was pregnant...

The boy did not deserve an arrest as it was a mutual misunderstanding, and the girl, though a doctor preferred to end her life! Since the boy too is depressed hope he doesn't take the rash decision of harming his life; he needs counseling! Sorry state of our education system, which doesn't teach you how to handle turbulent situation in life but become doctors!

Aaj ke daur me pyar ke duahmano ke liye Ishq wo hai jab pyar karne wale Vaishali aur Sujish hai magar Vaishali agar pyar Salman se kare to wo Ishq Love Jihad me badal jata hai.

Palakkad in Kerala is a place where Hindu culture and traditions are strictly followed and the boy happens to be coming from such an atmosphere. The girl, though coming from an underdeveloped district, seems to have come from a well to do family or else she would not have been sent to a private medical college by her parents. The educated girls of today, want to cut that belief that they have to remain subjugate to the whims and fancies of boys. Hence, this generation will have the conflict between boy & girl and husband & wife. Here, the girl has not written any letter that the boy is responsible for the suicide and hence, the case will not hold any credence in the court of law. But, one thing that the present day boys have to realise that this generation of girls will not tolerate the inequality between them and girls, which the boys have seen in their homes.

very strange that even in the 21st century with so many other issues bothering the world, these people are worried about love....that too knowing that we live in a country which still had not come out the conservative mindset...be it religion or culture..

I believe it is wrong to book a case on sujish. Both have suffered. Unless she has squarely blamed him for any atrocities, j dont think case will hold good in court of law.
