Belagavi: MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal offers to prove his ability if made CM

Daijiworld Media Network - Belagavi (SP)

Belagavi, Dec 21: BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, said that if the party makes him the chief minister (CM) of Karnataka, he will prove his mettle by working efficiently and diligently.

Yatnal was responding to questions raised by the media on the emotional speech delivered by chief minister Basavaraj Bommai, at Shiggaon on Sunday December 19. He remarked that the predictions he had made earlier had not gone wrong. "He has said that power is not permanent. It was his natural reaction. Changes are common, and processes keep happening continuously," he said.

However, minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, speaking on this issue, opined that the chief minister became emotional when addressing the people of his home district. "The chief minister said that he is a member of the family which happens to be his constituency. I am of the opinion that there is no need to assign any political colour to it" he stated.

Revenue minister R Ashok, sensing that the issue of change of the chief minister is being blown out of proportions, clarified that there is no question of the change of chief minister for now and advised the others to stop dreaming about it.
