Do not oppose Anti-Conversion Bill: Yediyurappa to Opposition

Belagavi (Karnataka), Dec 21 (IANS): Former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa on Tuesday urged the opposition parties in Karnataka not to oppose the proposed Anti-Conversion Bill, which is being introduced by the ruling party BJP in the state.

Speaking to reporters, he stated, there was nothing to hide in this regard. "The Anti-Conversion Law will be introduced in the Assembly. The law is already in place in many states. Opposition Congress and JD(S) should allow the Bill to pass. They should not oppose it," he said.

"The law is being brought in the interest of the people. There is no emotional aspect in that. The opposition should allow the Bill to pass without posing any hurdles," he stated.

Meanwhile, former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy stated that the ruling BJP can not indulge in muscle twisting tactics for the fact that it has a majority in the House. "We (JD(S)) will oppose the Anti-Conversion Bill in the Assembly as well as council," he said.

The Congress in its legislature party meeting, held earlier in the day, decided to oppose the Bill tooth and nail.

The Bill was cleared in the state cabinet meeting on Monday.

B.S.Yediyurappa's last term in the assembly. So inorder to please his RSS masters, he advises the opposition not to oppose the anti conversion bill. This Bill is nothing but RSS' agenda. BJP CM and ministers have to support it. RSS/BJP want to divert the core issues of price rise, unemployment, law and order situation, immoral policing etc. Let the Swamijies and the VHP leaders first work for the development of the Dalits, SC, ST communities. Let them provide free education, shelter, health care to the poor Dalits. Also let thep ask the central Govt to stop exportinf beef to the Middle East and other countries. Let all RSS/VHP/BJP/BD leaders stop sending their children to Christian countries for higher education. Let the Central Govt ban all funding from Hindu organistions of US, UK and other western countries.

Oh really! We are a democratic country and we have all the right to oppose. This is violation of human rights as well as Constitution. Last time when churches were attacked, women and children hit, none of them got justice. But the Lord was faithful and gave us double of what we lost. The Apostles were also opposed and oppressed but their spirits were not crushed and they saw revival . Same thing will happen. The Word says: Don't Touch My Beloved. The Lord shall give us Victory.

Ifone understands the contents in this bill, anybody can accuse a different faith person and can extort money in lakhs. To disprove is an uphill task.To change your beliefs, one has to register for months in the govt. notice board !!!.One has to give your previous history of religion. Which genius has drafted this bill which is rediculous. This is really a joke for the entire world to laugh at the government who controls the faith of people. There is no agenda to improve the quality of life of the suffering Citizens of the country. Why would government think the Hinduism is in trouble which has thousands of years of history and can never be extinct. It has delivered a lot of good to the world. I personally get elated when the topics of epics comes up for discussion.Really love the teachings but not the exploitations of the innocent people. Long live the the country and its culture. Jai Hind.

Dont oppose ?Anna Yediyurappa ,what are you saying ?Do you think everything what your BJP decides and brings as law ,without opposing should be accepted ?Forget it.Always it should be discussed ,pro and contra must be seen. What about other problems in the country not important ?It is a fundamental right of a person to choose his religion with his own will in a demokratic country. That you should know.can live without too.But file fine if someone converts to other religion or jail is simply joke .we will oppose.I dont mean it particular one but any religion.Tomorrow when I find Hindu or Islam is better then allow me to convert without any fine.who will oppose me ?I can be a Jain or Sikh .

My one question to everyone after our death , weather I am a Christan, Muslim or Hindu where's the destination of every one, it's only one place that what my belief if anyone has different answers let me know. Why I put this question is why people are fighting for religion like BJP party is doing.

If this law comes into force and if anyone is booked violating this law and that person challenges in the court then court will reject this law and the case and award justice to the defendant as that particular law is not court’s law book to punish the accused. Case Dismissed. Case Closed. Same thing happening in UP, Gujrat, Kerala and MP against Love-jihad cases.
