Mangaluru: New voters’ registration campaign - Officials advised to be in readiness

Mangaluru, Dec 25: A meeting of heads of voter literacy organizations of different levels of educational institutions headed by the zilla panchayat chief executive officer, Dr Kumar, was held online on Thursday December 24 under the aegis of the district administration, district level zilla panchayat Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) committee.

Dr Kumar told the participants that the task of special revision of the voters list in the district is progressing rapidly. He noted that the district has about 60,000 new voters and that nearly ten thousand among them alone have got themselves registered. He advised district level PU, degree, medical, para medial, engineering and other educational institutions to ensure that all the eligible students who complete 18 years of age as at January 1, 2022, are registered either through the voter helpline or by accessing the National Voters Services Portal.

He asked the concerned to make preparations to see that all the remaining voters get included in the new voters registration campaign being held on January 3, 2022 in all the educational institutions, by making advance preparations. He also advised the concerned to hold training sessions for the students and heads of educational institutions on December 27 and 28.

Technical assistant, Rama, explained about the way the new voters can register themselves through different ways.

District SVEEP coordinator, Sudhakar, officials of the concerned departments, heads of educational institutions, principals etc took part in this online meeting.
