Mangaluru, Dec 25: District additional superintendent of police, Dr Shivakumar flagged off a bike tour to Rann of Kutch by ‘Mangalore Bikerni’ club to promote women empowerment at circuit house on Friday December 24.

Mangalore Bikerni club was started in the year 2015 by Krithi Ucchil, who was then joined by Pooja Jain, Divya Poojary and Apoorva Jain.

The four girls took off from Mangaluru to Kutch to cover 3,600 kilometres in the next 11 days, probably reaching Kutch on December 29 or 30.

The team plans to cover at least 500 to 600 kilometres per day.

Krithi, works as a software engineer. She is the founder of Mangalore Bikerni club. It is India's only women biking club. Pooja Jain, owner of textile shop ‘Devika Sarees’, also holds black belt in karate. She teaches karate too. Divya Poojary works as a medical representative and is an enthusiastic biker. Apoorva is a software engineer and mother of a 6-year-old boy.

Kirthi loves touring and has travelled to several places in South India along with Pooja Jain and Divya Poojary. Apoorva has toured to small distance destinations and this will be her first experience to cover 3,600 kilometres.

Women are indeed the Future of this Country. Women Empowerment in India is only Talked about . Much Needs to be done to embolden Women . They are now Job Seekers in Very Industry . They should no longer be referred to as the WEAKER Sex and are even superior to Men in many fields. To expect Gender equality as is seen in Many developed countries is still a Pipe Dream .
