Mangaluru: Driver, conductor return Rs 10,000 found in bus, lauded by police chief

Mangaluru, Dec 26: In an exemplery gesture, a driver and a conductor of a private bus returned Rs 10,000 that they found in their bus near Talapady checkpost.

Conductor Althaf and driver Dinakar, employees of Mahesh Travels, returned the cash by handing it over to the police commissioner's office.


Speaking to the media, police commissioner N Shashi Kumar said, "Conductor Althaf, a resident of Talapady, found Rs 10,000 on a seat of the bus. He discussed the matter with Dinakar, and the two of them returned the cash to the police commissioner's office."

The police commissioner also thanked the duo for their honesty.

He also said that the person who lost the money in the bus can collect it from the commissioner's office.

Speaking to the media, both Althaf and Dinakar said that they returned whatever they found in the bus as it was the right thing to do.
