School closed for ‘serving non-veg food’ on Christmas, order withdrawn later

Daijiworld Media Network – Bagalkot (MS)

Bagalkot, Jan 2: It is alleged that non-veg food was served at St Paul’s School of Ilakal town of the district during Christmas celebration. The schools was ordered to be closed by the zonal education officer. However, it is learnt that the education department has put a stay on the order of zonal education officer.

Zonal education officer, in his letter written to the administrative board of the school said, “It is brought to my notice that non-veg food was served in your school during Christmas celebration. Your behaviour has embarrassed the education department as well as the general public. You should not open the school till further notice.”

The order of the zonal education officer was brought to the notice of the education department. It is said that the zonal education officer did not inform the deputy commissioner nor the education department higher authorities before sending out order to close the school. Education department said that it is not possible to close the school just because it served non-veg food during celebration of Christmas at school. Hence, the order was withdrawn by the education department.

Recently, there was vehement opposition in north Karnataka for serving even eggs during midday meals by the government. Right wing organizations also held demonstrations against serving eggs in schools. They also accused the school management of converting the students to Christianity.

Its unfortunate that hate mongers with devil thinking are throughout our society including education dept. These people only follow instructions from sanghis and want others to follow them as if its their Father property. Zonal education officer who served the notice as a Dictator should be sacked immediately. He has no right to continue in service as he is not respecting others. IN case he is veg. its not mandatory that every one should be veg. 99.9 percent of indians are non veg. If meat and eggs are non veg how come milk is catagorised as veg. Does these people get milk from earth or trees? They dont like to consume meat but consume milk. How can they justifiy milk to be veg.

Serving is the important word. If u do not want the service,it is a democratic country ,not a dictator ship,,you should not have the service. India is 74 percent non veg. So,get the priority corrected.vegetarians are defined as persons who do not consume good sourced from animals birds ,fish ,insects,so that includes milk and it's by products. too. Poor knowledge is the cause of lots of stupidity.

As compared to Christian priests and nuns and Christian laypeople, none of the other communities have contributed to Indian society in education, social services for aged, helpless, and the sick, or healthcare through hospitals and nursing staff....

Shankaranna, kerala is not in Mangalore buddy. Everyone has a right beza to use for betterment of the society. St. Paul is a Christian school and Christmas day celebration is a happy day meal once a year treated for kids. Not end of the world. Jealousy and hate from many groups makes this issues. None of the students and thier parents have issues with it. It is people filled with hate destroy the peace in the society and finally destroy the country. It is a same. When law and order is in trouble of the nation that is where everything start going in wrong directions. We Christian's are not worried about these harrassment from many of you but the poor students and many your brothers and sisters will suffer when Catholics stop serving the poor and marginalized people.in schools and hospitals. Many priest and nuns have sacrificed their entire life for serving marginalized poor people where govt is not able to help.. Instead of thanking them many politicians and others harassing them. This is a bad thing one can see happening. Dont call upon curse people instead pray for these.priest and nuns for thier hard work for educating people and making them good smart human

This uneducated education officer is unfit how to do his job properly, hence suspended and sent on training. Also check his qualifications and whether he is a cheddar. Bomma is the root cause of all these troubles as he is trying to hide his failures by diverting peoples attention somewhere else.

The science has progressed so much, having given us so much knowledge and technology, yet it is unfortunate that we live amongst 'fossilzed brains', which I am sure scientists would be excited to fill in the glass jars and study them as to why they see problems in each and everything.

Serving nonveg food to public may result some opposition. Concerned department should decide/clarify whether it is right or wrong and take necessary actions accordingly. But sending closure notice for this reason is not correct.

James Mangalore,Here this matters little whether non veg is cheaper or not. Here People simply start to raise objection to one and everything.some obect eggs some object food given on Christmas.when they give a non veg food on Feast day, what is wrong? One who doesnt eat or dont want sit at home.or dont eat. When they say try to convert, then let them change the school and go home to another.Trouble makeers.why so much dombarata?silly things.Best is school should in future dont take children from other religion.otherwise always problems to each and everything.since it is catholic school ,they have the right to take or not. When Board makes problem explain to them .If you give also problem not give also problem.I am sure they have not given any beef.chicken is accepted from many religion.who is a vegetarian knows he doesnt eat so why this drama?Better in future dont give food at all.

This is only part of the story. Actually some "organizations" came to school and disrupted the Christmas celebration. The organization gave written complaint that the school is converting student by serving non-veg food and wine !!! The education officer immediately sent this notice to please those guys...India is moving towards another Aphaganistan or Pakistan...what a fall ? everyone feels India is going backwards in every sphere....so sad...

What a shame on that education department officers and how dare of issuing such memo. I do not believe catholic schools ever do unethical stuff the way this so called education department officer did. Tax payers should demand to remove him from hiss job permanently. If this trend continues from government officials then soon it will be a issues to citizens to follow law and orders and country turn like afghan and Somalia. My parents are still paying tax and I have paid tax for years not never took any benifits of it. Sad. Thank god I moved. My prayers for peace and prosperity for everyone

For you all who are advocating non-veg food, one day take a disguise and stand somewhere in the surrounding area of a Beef selling (legally of-course) shop. You will be shocked to know how many people belonging to a specific community come to buy it. No, I am not making fun or taunting them, I sympathize with the class of people who can't afford costlier meats. I pity them for they have no voice in front of BD/RSS goons.
