Mumbai, Jan 11: A tug that was deployed to push back Air India flight that was headed to Jamnagar from Mumbai caught fire at the Chhatrapati Shivaji international airport in the city on Monday morning. The aircraft had 85 passengers seated on board.
There was no damage done as the fire was brought quickly under control by the fire personnel at the airport.
Giving details of the incident, a spokesperson for Air India said that they are checking with the ground handling department (Air India Airport Services Limited) for more details on the cause of fire etc. The aircraft was at a good distance of 20 feet from the pushback cart when it caught fire. It was not connected to the airport at the time of fire as pre the spokesperson.
