Panaji, Jan 14: All offline exams of Goa university scheduled to be held from January 14 were postponed by three weeks due to the increasing cases of Covid. A circular to this effect was taken out by the university on Thursday. The exams will be held from February 7 as per revised schedule.

Goa university stated in the high court of Bombay at Goa that all offline examinations will be held after three weeks due to the rapid rise in Covid cases.

The two bench committee of Justice Sadhana Jadhav and Manish Pitale observed that the university will take suitable decision taking into account the health of the students.

Presenting the table of rising cases, lawyer for petitioner Parag Rao said that in the current situation it is better to postpone the examinations rather than feeling sorry later.

The counsel in favour of the university said that the examinations online are being conducted just to maintain the assessment of students and standards of education.

Students of the university had also protested against holding off line examination for the past week. They had met governor P S Sreedharan Pillai and had urged him to order the government to hold online exams and classes. Near CMs residence students were detained for trying to gain access.
