Bengaluru, Jan 22: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday made it clear that the State Government will not take any hasty decision on the proposals to increase the price Milk as well as the tariff hikes in respect of Water and Electricity.
Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, he said the State Government has received proposals with regard to price hikes. “We need to examine all aspects first before taking any decision,’’ he clarified.
Answering questions from the reporters, he admitted that the number of cases have increased during the third wave of Covid/Omcron. However, the intensity and seriousness is not the same as before and with the availability of medicines, the recovery is also more, he said.
The State Government decided to partially relax the Covid restrictions and took a decision to withdraw the weekend curfew as the officials feel that the situation could be handled better with proper medicines and adherence to the Covid guidelines so as to ensure that the people were not put to severe hardships.
“Lives and livelihood are also equally important. We need to be careful and vigilant,’’ he said.
To a question of former Prime Minister and JD(S) Supremo HD Deve Gowda getting admitted for treatment at the Manipal Hospital in the city, the Chief Minister said: “Covid has not spared anybody.’’
“I will speak to his (Deve Gowda) family and also the doctors of the Manipal Hospital,’’ Bommai said.
