Mangaluru Jan 26: District in-charge minister Sunil Kumar on Wednesday January 26 slammed the Communists and Congress and accused them of misusing Bahmashree Narayana Guru’s name for political gain.
Speaking to media after the Republic Day celebration at Nehru Maidan, he said, “Narayana Guru is not limited to a caste or system, he is above all. Congress and Communists are misusing Narayana Guru’s name for politics. They should not indulge in such activities. The mistake committed by Congress and Communists have led to confusion among people. When Ladyhill circle was being renamed after Narayana Guru, the Congress objected to it. Was that not an insult to Narayana Guru? Congress are taking advantage of the fire that was set in Kerala on Narayana Guru tableau controversy.
“Congress keep saying that BJP leaders are joining their party. It is only out of insecurity. We could see how Congress has been cleared in the country. Congress will be cleared in state too. We will see the Congress’ situation in the upcoming BBMP and four states elections. Congress has become like a broken house,” he said.
On his taking charge as a district in-charge minister, he said, “I wholeheartedly accept the responsibility of being the district in-charge minister of Dakshina Kannada. We will work along with the MLA for the overall development of Dakshina Kannada.”
