Udupi, Feb 2: "The government has decided to take the 'Gomala’ (cattle) grazing land for other purposes. It needs to think many times before taking such a decision," said Vasudeva Bhat Perampalli.
He said, "Several Gomala lands have already been encroached by the public or donated by the farmers. At the same time, the government is also talking of constructing Goshalas and protection of cattle. These are quite contrasting. It needs to introspect on its decisions. It can allow industries to open easily but cultivating and preserving grazing lands is very challenging.
"Hence, the government should not interfere in this matter," he demanded.
