Mangaluru, Feb 9: Advocate K S N Rajesh, who was in judicial custody relating to the allegation of sexually harassing a law intern, succeeded in getting interim bail from the high court on Monday February 7.
It was said that Rajesh had sexually harassed a law student of Maharashtra origin at his office. The aggrieved intern had filed a case. The women's police station personnel here had registered case against him on October 18. Rajesh had become untraceable thereafter.
In the meantime, two policemen including the Urwa police sub-inspector were suspended for threatening the lady against filing the complaint. Two more were arrested on the allegation of facilitating Rajesh's escape. The bar council had suspended his membership.
Rajesh remained underground for about two months after which a lookout notice was issued against him. The anticipatory bail applications moved by Rajesh in Mangaluru court and the state high court were rejected. He thereafter had surrendered at a court here on December 20.
