Bantwal: Brawl, stabbing in bar over frivolous issue - Two arrested

Bantwal, Feb 12: In connection with a quarrel which erupted inside a bar in a state of intoxication culminating in stabbing, the Bantwal town station police personnel have arrested two of the accused. They have now been looking for other accused in the incident.

The arrested accused happen to be Purusha alias Purushotham from Kavalaudoor, and Dhanush alias Dhananjay, resident of B Casba village here.

The friends, after getting drunk, had created ruckus in the bar on some trivial matter. This was followed with stabbing with a knife in which two were injured. This incident happened near Bantwal Bypass Junction on February 9. The young men involved with this incident had fought over some personal issue, after which they had stabbed each other.

Kishore and Dayanand, who were injured in the incident, have been admitted into a hospital. Sichit, Sachin, Dhanu and Purusha were named as accused in the case. Under the directions of the district superintendent of police, Rishkesh Sonawane, Bantwal deputy superintendent of police, Prathap Singh Thorat, had guided the operations and formed a teal led by Bantwal town police inspector Vivekanand.

The team under the supervision of the town police inspector Vivekanand and led by sub-inspector Avinash, arrested two of the accused. The team is hunting for the other accused in the case.
