Kadaba: Religious conversion - Man staying with widow taken into custody

Daijiworld Media Network - Kadaba (SP)

Kadaba, Feb 12: The Kadaba police station personnel, on Friday February 11 morning, took into custody a person who was found staying with a widow who belongs to another faith. The police were informed about the incident by some activists of certain Hindu organizations.

The widow in question, who is a Hindu, lives in Kottary in Kodimbala village within Kadaba police station limits. It is said that the man had stayed in the widow's residence several times in the past. The Hindu activists, who got information that he was trying to convince the woman to get converted by offering lures, had visited the house and tried to convince the concerned. However, the man continued to visit the widow and stay at her house at night. Literature concerning Christianity in the woman's residence, garlands with the cross in the necks of the widow's children, etc dropped enough hints about the things to come. The Hindu activists who came to know that the man again came here and stayed on Thursday night with the woman, informed the police.

The woman was a victim of acid attack which happened a year back at Kodimbala. It is alleged that her helplessness is being used to convert her. She was attacked with acid by her own brother-in-law relating to a land dispute. She had recovered after undergoing hospitalization. The court had released the elder brother of her husband who attacked her with acid, on bail. The woman had approached the high court seeking cancellation of bail which was upheld by the court and the accused was jailed again.

Kadaba police station assistant sub-inspector had been suspended for dereliction of duty in the above case. The woman was undergoing depression because of these developments. She lives with her two daughters. The organizations claim that an effort to convert her is being made by taking advantage of the unfortunate situation in which she finds herself.

Readers, Christians across denominations and sects, must clean up the filthy garbage accumulated in their own religious backyard, rather then attempting to sanitise the mess outside. Moreover the rapidly dwindling population in our nation, must be addressed at the earliest !!!

Two adult individuals, if they are staying together, with mutual consent, what is BD's business in poking nose into someone's personal matter..... As rightly said by Mr. Prakash in the comments column, Solace at a time of crisis and depression is life saving..... It is quite normal for people to give suggestions based on their experience / background / faith etc.... and the person would have harmlessly asked her to adopt Christian prayers for seeking solace..... But if the real intention was to take advantage of the situation and get her converted against her wish, it should be dealt appropriately, but only and only at the behest of the lady's complaint and not according to the whims of BD / VHP goons..... Saffron jokers have made the beautiful DK a communal cauldron.....

Shame on you people. When people love each other it is not your business to separate them. Religion has nothing to do with love and conversion. Your organization start helping jobless youth to find jobs then policing conversion issues.

Solace at a time of crisis and depression is life saving. What police must consider here is the motive of the accused. If it's pure Godly motivated work they must arrange counselling for the accused about the social repercussion of switching to different faith.

what is funny about these so called hindu organizations which act as protectors of Hindusim that they never get in touch with their brethern when they are in real need of protection or help...then they say..SAYYAD MARAYA NANK DAAYE... as they will not get any money or liquor and have to give money or other support to lady like this who was a victim of acid attack...this Catholic definitely has helped her with good heart...so her mind got converted...only when the BD and Sene guys saw cross in the necks of lady and children they thought there is opportunity to politicise the issue...enchina avasthe marayare?...this is the actual reason why many hindus are getting converted to other religions...

Mr pinto. How do you know that the Hindu organization has not helped her prior?. I am a Hindu and my family has helped many people who are in need of financial help. Also we don't expect anything in return. Having said that we don't even consume alcohol. Keep your assumptions to yourself.

Hindu Organisations are there only to create rift and communal disharmony in the society. They are not there to help anyone. They follow their MP's and MLA's like Shobha, Raghupati Bhat, Sunil Kumar, Nalin Kumar etc. Did they raise their voice for justice to Kavya Poojary who died at Alva's? They did not because Alva's is hindus. If it was Christian or Muslim Institute these guys would have tried to destroy the same.

Justice to Kavya and Sowjaneya is still pending. Why don't these organisations fight for their justice? Even this poor widow hasn’t got full justice for acid attack when the criminal was freed on bail and she had to resort to the high court. It shows there are people backing the criminal. As far as conversion is concerned she has the right to file FIR if coercion or pressure is involved in the man’s act. Further it’s not right on his part to stay overnight in the guise of helping or preaching.
