Dharwad, Feb 12: Chairman of the legislative council of Karnataka, Basavaraj Horatti, has observed that the Hijab-saffron shawl controversy has turned into a game of politics. He said he is prepared to mediate between the warring sides in an effort to find a lasting solution.
Speaking to media persons here on Friday February 11, he expressed the opinion that the government has stumbled in the matter of solving the issue. He observed that there is no seriousness in handling the issue. "How can the education minister stay relaxed when the controversy is raging? The controversy will get resolved if the government, education minister, home minister, and some universities convene a meeting of PU Board directors and some parents and give them valuable message, the problem gets resolved. Declaring holidays to schools and colleges is not a right step. Regrettably some parents are joining hands to vitiate the situation, he observed and termed it as regrettable.
