Souza Chicken Steps 'Foot' into New Venture with Exports to China

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (PS)

Mangalore, Dec 31: Ever wondered whatever happened to the feet of the chickens that you ate so heartily?

No, they are not discarded as in most other places in India - they are instead exported to China and Vietnam by city's very own Souza Chicken.

Every month, Souza Chicken exports about 12 tonnes of chicken feet to China and other countries in the Far East like Hong Kong and Vietnam.

The venture was added to the hatchery's business following requests placed on its website by customers abroad, who also gave them elaborate details as to how to go about the process.

The chicken feet are shipped in a frozen state after they are cut and cleaned.

Though in India chicken feet are discarded as waste, in China they are served as delicacies and even as street food garnished with spices.

    "Somebody's waste is other's wealth".

Many people have a dislike for  fish head (I love that taste), but is it very expensive where the far eastern people are heavily populated.

When we look at the price of a cow tongue or pickled pig feet in some of the stores, it will cause us surprise and laughter.

When we are extremely hungry, anything can be highly tasty. When we eat any food at the early part
of life, that taste will be with us until we die.
