'Women without hijab risk rape in India' comment intended for Muslim men: Kalladka Bhat

Bengaluru, Feb 15 (IANS): Karnataka RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat provoked a controversy by stating on Tuesday that Congress MLA B.Z. Zameer Ahmad Khan's statement that hijab will prevent Muslim women from getting raped in India is pointed at Muslim men.

"MLA Zameer has spoken about his community. Muslim women wear a burqa inside houses also fearing the action by the males in the family. In Arab countries women wear burqas out of the fear of being raped. Likewise here in India also Muslim women clad in burqa get protection from their own community members," Bhat said.

He stated that wearing of saffron shawls by Hindu students is just a reaction. "What has happened in our country is that Hindus are trampled upon so much that there is no reaction for action from them. I appreciate the boys who wore saffron shawls to schools and colleges. They are not trained by RSS, the students are expressing themselves by flaunting saffron shawls," he maintained.

The government should not hesitate to initiate action in this regard. It should not have declared holidays for schools and colleges after the hijab row surfaced, he opined.

Hindus will not go for action at any point of time, however, they will react. "You want them to not react also," he questioned. The High Court has given interim orders, in spite of the fact that the students are coming to schools with hijab. If there is an order in future by the Supreme Court also, they would wear a hijab, he said.

Bhat stated that saffron symbolizes service, sacrifice, valour and "our entire nation is saffron. There is an agenda of dividing this country with the hijab row. Even before local media could pick up the issue of protests over hijab, the Pakistani media and other international media have taken up this issue, he added.

The Congress party has also slammed Zameer for his statements. State Congress President D.K. Shivakumar said the party won't endorse his statement and urged him to take back his comments. Though initially Zameer refused to take back his statement, he later regretted what he had stated.

I would like to clarify about the veil or covering about a Christian women head. 1 Corinthinans 11:5-6 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. The Holy Bible, crystal clear about the dress code inside the church and outside of the church. Inside the church St Paul says: a woman has to cover her head while praying and while Prophesyzing anywhere and every place. This verse evidently says a woman, outside or inside the church, has to cover her head while she is in a prayer or prophesizing. Christian scriptures never say a woman should cover herself head to toe always everywhere inside and outside a place of worship / Church / Faith Home. Presently, even in the 21st century we can witness head covering in catholic churches, faith homes and in other denominational churches by our loyal, God fearing women. The 6th verse is the continuation of the 5TH verse. I quote: For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. THIS VERSE NEVER EVER SAYS A WOMEN MUST COVER HER HEAD EVERYWHERE. In the Genesis I quote: Genesis 24:65 For she had said unto the servant, What man is this that walketh in the field to meet us? And the servant had said, It is my master: therefore she took a vail, and covered herself. we can see in this verse Isaac's proposed wife Rebecca came all the way to Isaac’s dwelling place without wearing veil and she did not cover her head all her way to Isaac’s place. After arrival / entering into Isaac’s land she inquired with Isaac's servant what man is that walketh, after confirming, Rebecca covered herself with a veil as a mark of respect and obedience. SO IN CONCLUSION CHRISTIAN WOMEN ARE NOT TO COVER HER HEAD EVERYWHERE, ANYWHERE HEAD TO TOE. CHRISTIAN

Bros, Hatred - Holy Bible, Quran or BG no religion or Holy scriptures preaches any type of hatred towards others. I am not a regular reader of holy scriptures but my mother brought us up in a good religious and God fearing atmosphere. Of course, I am not saintly or very pious but I respect any ones religion, believe in God and keep faith in Almighty. I am blessed in so many ways in life and I still work though I am a senior citizen. Gods gift.

Instead of asking to refer just verse 29 of chapter 9, you should have asked couple of more previous verses so that to understand about context, similar to BG's verses 34 and before....

Kalladka Bhat... Both, ie. MLA Zameer's comment as well as your interpretation of the same is kind of confusing. It may be applicable for countries other than India. But it certainly does not not apply for India. Becoz in India esp. in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, there are enough of non-Muslim men who do that offence.

He refused to apologize for his disgusting bigotry, but was forced to retract his rant, after the Congress felt a raging anger, from the public.. ultimately they were forced to crackdown on their neta..

@Gurukha, If you say that Dominance is the aim of religious leader, then please take the example of our leader Prophet Muhammed ( Peace and blessings of Allah be upon Him) , as mentioned in the following hadith......"Abu Huraira reported: By the One in whose hand is my soul, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, did not satiate his family with wheat bread for three consecutive nights until he departed from this world."Source: .....Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2976 There is and more narration where our Second Khalifa Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) went to ask for a loan from the Custodian of the treasury and requested him some money for one of his basic needs with a promise to return it back in his next salary ( as Khalifa); then that Custodian asked with Umar (R.A) if he can give a signed document that he will be alive until the next salary. Hearing this, the Khalifa simplily returned from there. Point to be noted here is that the Khalifa Umar (R.A) was the Custodian of 35 lakh square kilometers. This proves that religious leaders don't use religion as a mean to dominate other people

The people who are converting to islam in USA are not usually White American, Jewish or Indian people...but lower income Blacks and Spanish, who don't even know who their fathers' are...and because of lack of father figure in household, get into a life of crime, gangs, and drugs and end up in prison...it is in the prison that they convert into Islam. Islamic conversion is rampant in the US prison system...but as long as the prisoners get some discipline, self-control and structure in their lives, prison authorities tolerate conversions, and it is OK if they become devout to any religion muslim, hindu, or Christian

@ Ashley, Why are you relating the practices forced by terrorists to have opinion about normal Muslims?. Don't try to portray that all Muslims are same. Is it possible that all people belonging to a religion have same values?. Do you know that - An independent inquiry published in October 2021 said it had concluded there were about 216,000 victims of sexual abuse carried out by the French Catholic Church’s clergy between 1950 and 2020. By this report can you show the same courageous mischief to drag all people of that community to say that people are afraid of them?. Please use your qualification on good things instead of stereotyping any community.

@Ashkey... Looks like either you have not read your own Religious books nor have seen the Pic of Mother Mary or any sisters/nuns..... I suggest you to refer New Testament, 1st Corinthians, Chapter 11, verse 5-6 if you are following Christianity or Rig Veda, Mandal 8, Hymn/Sukta 33, verse 19, Rig Veda, Mandal 10, Hymn/Sukta 85, verse 30, and Book VI Yuddha Kanda Book of War, Chapter 111, verse 63-64 if you are following Hinduism.... or Al-Quran, Chapter 24, verse 31 if your following Islam. May be you guys have stopped practicing what has been preached in Religious scripture of yours, but we Muslims are not like that... Once the doctrine (divine law) is revealed, our self desires or self wish doesn't carry any weight in front of our creators will and wish... Who better can know a human than his own creator??? That's what we call Imaan (belief) and as well Taqwa (The love and fear of God Almighty), as we want to be success in both worlds, not this temporary world.

You are instigating Hindu boys to wear shawl in retaliation is blatant violation of the constitution. Using minor students to further your political gain and encouraging them to take law in thier hands is also violation of law of the land. Minorities just can not afford to demand and protest for what is not rightful by the constitution unlike you.
