Bangalore: Foundation Stone Laid for Konkani Welfare Trust Project

Bangalore, Jan 21: The foundation stone for the Konkani Welfare Trust (KWT) building was laid by youth Congress president and MLA Krishna Byre Gowda at Chelakere near Kammanahalli, here recently.

 

The chairman of the Konkani Welfare Trust Ronald Colaco welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering. He stressed the need for a building to promote Konkani culture and language in the capital city Bengaluru. It is going to be a unique project for the state, he added.

Zilla Panchayat member Prabhakar Raju and chief executive officer of Royal Concord International School Chetan Gowda were present during the ceremony. Local MLA Nandish Reddy and corporator Tejaswini Raju also sent the best wishes for the dream project.

KCA vice-president Dr Alan Pinto and KonCAB president Nerry D’Silva were present on the dais.

The dream project is a joint venture of KCA and KonCAB. Members of both the Konkani associations KCA and KonCAB were present in large numbers at the venue to support the dream project.

The architects for the building are Rajesh Mahan & Associates. The building is expected to be ready in 15 months.
