March was to Defy Anti-India Elements: Gadkari

New Delhi, Jan 26 (IANS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Nitin Gadkari Wednesday denied that his party was trying to derive political mileage from the flag-hoisting march to Srinagar as it was a rally to "defy anti-India elements in Kashmir".

"Some people say there is politics in hoisting the national flag at Lal Chowk (in Srinagar). What politics was involved in hoisting the flag. This is not politics but our duty," Gadkari told reporters after hoisting the tricolour at the party headquarters here.

"The march to Srinagar was to defy anti-India elements in Kashmir. Some leaders had raised anti-government slogans in Lal Chowk (during the last summer agitation)," he added.

Gadkari said the arrest of the BJP leaders "by the Congress and National Conference government" in Jammu and Kashmir was "unfortunate".

He alleged that the central and state governments had surrendered to the pressure from separatist leaders by disallowing the BJP to unfurl the national flag.

Mr. Gadkari, what are you trying to prove ?? Instead of organizing this Yatra, you should have shown this zeal in fighting corruption wherein you have miserably failed. The corrupt politicians are the major threat to indian democracy. It is a pity that your pet Yeddy is enjoying life as a CM in spite of tons of corruption charges against his government. Jai Ho Gadkari, Jai Ho Yeddy, Jai Ho Reddys.

I dont understand why do you want to hoist our national flag on the said spot going all the way from Delhi?, why not other places? by hosting our national flag how can you defy anti india people? At this moment we must celebrate our republic day and cherish our diverse culture and bring shame to the anti india people by showing our unity and solidarity not causing a rift or a problem. If not political agenda than what is it? why dont you go as a chief guest to the rural schools and hoist the flag share the happiness with poor children? I dont think it was any kind of arrest to these BJP leaders? they were taken to VIP airport lounge and than to a hotel.if it was common man no body would ve give a glass of water,Thats the fate.
