Mangaluru, Mar 29: As part of Social Service and Community Development Activity by National Cadet Corps, Cadets of No 5 Karnataka Naval Unit NCC, Mangaluru paid a visit to Orphanage Samvedhana at Mangaluru, Home for Children affected with HIV on March 28.
Commanding officer of Naval Unit NCC, lieutenant commander Bharath Kumar, 04 Instructor Naval Sailors, 7 State Govt Officials, 26 Naval Wing Senior Division Cadets of University College, Mangaluru and St Aloysius College, Mangaluru along with ANO Second Officer Gurumurthy P paid a visit to the orphanage.
Groceries and Household supplies along with a large number of clothes collected by the staff of the unit and NCC cadets were handed over to the orphanage. The NCC Cadets interacted with the children and shared their thoughts, experiences and stories and few even motivated and inspired the children to enroll as NCC cadets during school and college days.
As part of the Social Service and Community Development Activity, the cadets of the nation’s largest Youth Organization NCC, are given exposure by involving them in activities that aid in creating an awareness of the social problems, educating and making constructive contributions towards society, encouraging cadets to participate voluntarily and channelize their energies in the task of nation-building.
