Mangaluru, Apr 8: Working in the health sector is a noble task. Along with the doctors and nurses, other health professionals are treated as gods by patients. We should gain confidence by working in a service mindset," speaker of Karnataka legislative assembly Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri said.
He was addressing a gathering at the graduation ceremony and annual day program at Mangala Group of Educational Institutions, Neermarga.
He further added that vision is a must to prevent commercialization of the health sector and it’s a national responsibility. "Mangaluru is a hub of educational institutions and health care in the country which we are proud. Students should try to learn beyond the textbook with the foundation of spirituality," he said. He also mentioned that diversified India is seen at Mangala College where students from all over the country are studying and the success of the institution is because of the dignity, and service mind of Dr Ganapathi.
The guest of honor, Padmashree awardee, founder president of the Manjushree Vidyapeeth orphanage, Aranachal Pradesh, Lama Tupten Phuntsoke praised the education system at Institution. He said that the Northeast Indian students are educated and acquire knowledge in the institute.
Meanwhile, Mangala College donated Rs 2.5 lac amount to Manjushree Vidyapeeth. Speaker Kageri distributed gold medal and cash prize to the 8 rank holder students.
Dr Ganapathi P, chairman, Mangala Group of Educational Institutions presided over. Dr U T Iftikar Ali, president, Indian Association of Physiotherapists, Karnataka, vice chairman, Dr Anita G Bhat, trustee Shankar Bhat, Nursing College principal Dr Marie Pinto, principal of Allied Health Sciences Prathijna Suhasini, principal of physiotherapy Dr Bharath were present. MLA Vedavyasa Kamath, Mayor Premanand Shetty and BJP district spokesperson Jagadish Shenava participated.
Mangala School of Nursing vice principal Pooja Ashokan recited oath to 450 students who graduated. Vijetha Sheena announced rank students list. assistant professor Abhineetha and Yogitha hosted the program. Academic Advisor Dr Moideen Nafseer T A delivered welcome speech.
