Udupi, Apr 15: Investigation into the mysterious suicide case of contractor Santhosh K Patil has intensified. District police has formed two teams to investigate the matter. These teams are led by Malpe and Brahmavar circle inspectors.

One team has left for Belagavi and is gathering information related to deceased Santhosh Patil. Police officers said that inspector Pramod Kumar of Udupi is the investigating officer in this case and the matter is being probed in various angles.

The police have already interrogated Prashant Shetty and Santhosh Madikeri, friends of deceased Santhosh Patil and video recorded their statements. The investigating officers are in continuous touch with these people.

Technical investigation will play a crucial role in the whole investigation. Police have also gathered the CCTV footage of the lodge. Deep investigation on the mobile calls and WhatsApp messages is being done. Two separate FSIL teams of Manipal and Mangaluru have collected crucial evidence from the spot of suicide and are analysing them.

It is learnt that the case is transferred to the people representatives’ court at Bengaluru as the prime accused in this case is a minister in the current BJP government. Even the investigating officer has to submit the chargesheet to the people representatives’ court.
