Bengaluru, Apr 24: Amid apprehensions of the fourth wave of Covid breaking out, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be holding a video conference with the Chief Ministers of the states on April 27.
The Prime Minister will be discussing with all Chief Ministers on the precautions to tackle it, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said in Hubballi on Sunday, April 24.
Speaking to media persons he said: “The Union government has already issued a caution alert. A slight increase in cases has been recorded in Kerala and Maharashtra in the last 8-10 days.”
Based on the experience of the last three waves, Bommai said experts too have suggested suitable precautionary measures.
Already Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar has issued a few instructions.
Clear instructions would be issued for Covid management in the State after the video conference with the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister said.
He said it is important for people to be careful. The Covid second wave started slowly and later exploded. The scientists are studying the virus variants, Bommai said.
'Govt has taken Hubballi incidents seriously'
“We have not taken Hubballi incidents of violence as an ordinary one. Stringent action against the rioters. We have not considered the Hubballi arson case as an ordinary one,”Bommai said.
The Chief Minister said: “The conspiracy and organised attack on the Hubballi police station has been taken very seriously. The people and organisations behind the arson would be identified and dealt with sternly.”
Bommai said the investigation is on to unravel the plot and the elements behind the incident. The police have already got the statements from those arrested.
Replying to a question that the email threats received by some of the schools has its origins in Pakistan, he said: "there are instances in the past of sitting here and using the IP addresses of Dubai and Saudi Arabia. A thorough investigation has been ordered into the case. The source of the emails and the culprits involved would be identified and help would be sought from the concerned countries through the External Affairs ministry to arrest them. We will go to the bottom of the case and find the culprits."
Reacting to a video, related to the irregularities in PSI recruitment, which has gone viral, Bommai said the audio, video and new ways of frauds are coming out.
“CID has been asked to conduct a thorough investigation. Whoever it is, however influential and smart they may be, the guilty would be arrested and punished,” he said.
Replying to a question that Divya Hanagari has not been arrested yet in the PSI recruitment case, the Chief Minister said her institution and house have been confiscated. She would be arrested soon, he added.
