May 20: Nil Covid cases reported in Udupi, Dakshina Kannada adds 2 infections

Mangaluru/Udupi, May 20: Dakshina Kannada on Friday, May 20, reported two new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered zero cases.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,35,565 out of which 18 are currently active.

 The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,850.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Nil corona cases were reported on May 20, the total active Covid cases are two. A total of 10,84,577 people have received first dose of vaccination and 10,55,797 have received both doses and 69,748 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
