Mangaluru: Two natives of Mysuru drown in Panambur beach

Mangaluru, May 31: Two youths who had come from Mysuru to partake in the Jackfruit Fest in the city, met watery grave at Panambur Beach on the morning of Monday May 30.

Divakara Aradhya (45) and Ningappa (60) are the unfortunate victims of this tragedy. Both are residents of Jayanagara in Mysuru.

The duo had arrived in the city, along with two of their friends on the evening of May 27 and had participated in the Jackfruit Fest till May 29. Before returning to Mysuru all four decided to visit Panambur beach on May 30. However, they got down into the sea where there is vicious current and two of them got drowned instantly. Two others escaped from danger.

Mortal remains of one person was available at the spot of drowning, while that of the other was found at Meenakaliya Koorikatta.

A case in this connection is registered at Panambur police station.
