Mangaluru: AB Shetty dental institute holds event on ‘World No Tobacco Day’

Mangaluru, Jun 1: The department of Oral Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Microbiology, AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences organized a programme on the occasion of ‘World No Tobacco Day 2022’ at City Center on Tuesday, May 31.

Speaking on the occasion, district Health department survey officer Dr Jagadish highlighted the hazardous effects of consuming tobacco on life and also the environment. He said that consuming tobacco is very harmful to health and that it would also affect the environment drastically. Consuming tobacco causes cancer which ultimately leads to the death of many. He further added that smoking would also affect the health while on the other hand, cigarette buds are very harmful to the environment.

Principal of AB Shetty Dental College Dr U S Krishna Nayak said that the consumption of tobacco would cause various diseases and that no one should become habituated to tobacco and hence must quit its consumption to maintain their health.

Taluk head officer Dr Sujay, managing director Daijiworld media Private limited, Walter Nandalike, head of the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Microbiology, Dr Shreelatha, Dr Pushparaj, Dr Preethesh Shetty and others were present.
