Mangaluru: Rider suffers serious injuries in scooter-tempo collision

Mangaluru, Jun 14: A scooter rider was seriously injured when a tempo hit his vehicle at the main junction at Haleangady near here on NH 66 on Monday June 13.

The injured is identified as Balakrishna. He was taking a turn towards the inner road at Haleangady, when the speeding tempo that was arriving from Mangaluru end hit his scooter head on.

The impact of the collision was so intense that the scooter got stuck underneath the front portion of the tempo. Locals had a tough time removing the vehicle and shifting the grievously injured rider to the hospital.

A case in this connection is registered in North traffic police station.
