Kasargod: Cops nab drug peddler from Bengaluru month after escape

Kasargod, Jun 14: After a one-month chase the Kasargod police have finally managed to nab the accused drug peddler who had escaped from their custody. The accused Amir Ali, a resident of Alampady in Vidyanagar police station limits was arrested from Bengaluru.

Amir has several cases against him including drug peddling. The Badiyadka police had caught him red-handed while he was selling MDMA in a car on May 12. The Kasargod court had remanded him to judicial custody.

On May 23, when he was being taken from Kannur Central Jail to Kasargod court, he had hoodwinked the police and escaped from their clutches.

The police who had received a tip-off regarding his whereabouts in Bengaluru, swung into action and brought him back to jail.
