Mangaluru, Jun 20: Milagres Educational Institution has a 174 years of legacy. Milagres Degree College was established in the year 2010. It is located in the heart of the coastal city of Mangaluru, Karnataka. The college is locally administered by the Milagres Church, under the management of the Catholic Board of Education, diocese of Mangalore.

The college acquired its Quality Excellence Grade by securing B++ Grade in the academic year 2019-20, within a span of 9 years. It is the first Christian self-financed college to have acquired this laurel.

HOTEL MANAGEMENT (BSc Hospitality Science):

Six semester degree programme & 8 semester honours programme optional in Hotel Management which includes a semester of on The Job Training (Internship).

Industrial visits & tours, RELISH (annual food festival), incubation centre (for innovation), seminars, conferences & guest lectures by the industrial experts are opportunities to gain additional knowledge of the hospitality industry.

Graduates of hospitality are placed in star hotels, aviation industry, travel & tourism, cruise line industry, catering and bakery businesses, and plenty of opportunities overseas.

Six semester degree programme & 8 semester honors programme optional with an exposure to the market trends through the industrial visits and internship, an opportunity to develop skills essential for career.

Inter collegiate fests, competitions, seminars, workshops and project work will give additional knowledge and hand on experience to the students.

Graduates of commerce have variety of job opportunities in banking, auditing, clerical, business, teaching, insurance, logistics and marketing sectors.

BCom with ACCA (UK Syllabus- 3 years): Very good scope in multinational companies as Auditor or financial manager, 5 paper exemption granted.


We stay focused on our purpose

Six semester degree programme & 8 semester honors optional programme which deals with nutrition and nutrients present in the food which play a major role in human health conditions.

This programme consists of one month internship in the 6th semester to get prepared for the profession.

Graduates of this programme are placed as dieticians in the hospitals, quality analysts in food processing companies, food inspectors, food safety auditors, nutritionists in fitness industries and food labelling specialists with scope for research.

Six semester degree programme & 8 semester honours optional in interior design and decoration. To expertise on the modern global trends and technology of interior design and decoration.

The programme includes one month internship (in-house training) and project work in the 5th semester which gives an exposure to the students to get prepared for the interior & constructions industry. Plenty of career opportunities in domestic, commercial, furniture interiors and in construction based companies.


Along with professional degree courses, we offer following three UGC career oriented advance diploma.

“An advanced diploma is an under graduate degree that prepares student to enter into a specific career or further study in an advanced degree and enables a student to attain two degrees at the same time one related to the course opted another the UGC career oriented course within a span of 3 years.”

1. Advanced Diploma in Supply Chain & Logistic Management (3 years)

Diploma in Supply Chain and Logistic Managements a three years UGC career oriented course. It is an annual scheme which includes theory and practical topics. First year the students will be awarded certificate, diploma in the second year and advanced diploma in the third year. The university Annual exams are held separately at the end of the academic year.

Logistics management is the part of the supply chain process that plans, implements and controls the efficient, effective flow and storage of goods, services, and related information from the point of origin to the point of consumption to meet customer requirements. The scope of logistics management involves order processing, inventory, transportation, materials handling and packaging, cargo management in the ports and airports. It encompasses business logistics, distribution, materials management, quick response system, supply management in India and abroad.

2. Advanced Diploma in Aviation & Hospitality Management (3 years)

Diploma in Aviation and Hospitality Management is a three years UGC career oriented course. It is an annual scheme which includes theory and practical topics. First year the students will be awarded certificate, diploma in the second year and advanced diploma in the third year. The university Annual exams are held separately at the end of the academic year.

An aviation hospitality professional is someone who works at airports, airlines or other businesses within the aviation or aerospace industry, such as aircraft manufacturers where they take care of the needs of the consumer. It has multiple scope as in air hostess, cabin crew, airline ticketing agent, front-end office operator, airline customer service agent, air freight manager, airport operations manager, airport manager, cargo department manager and cruise lines in India and abroad.

3. Advanced Diploma in Travel and Tourism (3 years)

Diploma in Travel and Tourism is a three years UGC career oriented course. It is an annual scheme which includes theory and practical topics. First year the students will be awarded certificate, diploma in the second year and advanced diploma in the third year. The university Annual exams are held separately at the end of the academic year. The result and marks card is issued by the University.

Students have endless career opportunities in this fast growing industry of travel and tourism. Candidates looking to pursue their career in the industry can choose to work for travel agencies, government tourism departments, tour operations, immigration and customs services, airlines, hotels and self-business in India and abroad.

The vibrant IQAC team consisting of academicians, industrialists, stakeholders, parents, alumni and students, guide and assist the college in enhancing its quality and progress.

4. Diploma in Goods and Service Tax - For BCom Students (2 years)

Diploma in Goods and Service Tax is a two years course. It is a semester scheme which includes theory and practical topics. The students will be awarded certificate in the First year and in the second year diploma. The university Semesters exams are held separately at the end of the academic year.

The Diploma in Goods and Services Tax in India provides an extensive understanding of the changes brought forth by the GST reforms in India. It also discusses in detail, the provisions relating to filing of GST returns as well as Input Tax Credit. Entry level job for finance firms, tax and audit companies, Taxation Research analyst, GST consultancy including GST Registration, GST Returns Filing, GST Audit, GST Annual Returns, Information Tax Credit, GST Refunds, TDS and TCS Under GST, E-Way Bill, Cross Border Transactions.

100% results in Aviation & Hospitality Management, Travel and Tourism in Diploma Course in the year 2020-21. 100% results in Supply Chain & Logistic Management, Travel and Tourism Management. 95% results in Aviation & Hospitality Management Certificate Course in year 2020-21.

Academic performance:

The academic performance of final year students is excellent in 2021. BSc HS-100%; BSc FND- 100%; BCom-90%

The Hospitality Science Department (BHS) has brought glory and honour to the college by securing all 3 ranks in 2020 and 2 ranks in 2021 assigned to BSc HS discipline at the Mangalore University in 2020 and 2021. 1st Rank Vineetha Mendonca & 3rd Rank Cheryl Mary Lobo (2020-21), 1st Rank Merlyn D’Souza, 2nd Rank Harsha Raj & 3rd Rank Sujay Clevin Noronha (2019-20). 

The college has left no stone unturned in its efforts for the placement of its students in 2020, despite the hurdles caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Principal & Staff

Milagres College is unique because it concentrates on character building through regular value education and personal counselling and inculcates citizenship behaviour through discipline and constant mentoring.

LMS (Learning Management System) is enabled in the College website so that all the students can login and get access to subject material (video) prepared by all the faculty pertaining to all the subjects.

Earn while Learn is the concept insisted in the new education policy. The students of FND and BHS with the guidance of faculty will be producing some items like bread, cake, cookies, chips and other special items which will be made available for sale at a cost rate at the counter which will be setup near the boys’ hostel entrance.

Also, there is a plan to supply small quantity of bread to nearby houses, shops and bakeries.50% of the income is utilized for the cost of the materials and other expenditure incurred. 25% is utilized for the college development fund. And remaining 25% is distributed among students and staff involved.

Industrial Visits for the B.Com, BHS, FND and IDD students have been organized to popular industries and firms in Mysore and Kannur so that students get an exposure and hands on experience in the respective fields and are ready for new career prospects.

Internships and placements is another sector where students are regularly motivated and guided. The College has tie ups with hotels like Taj, Marriott, Hilton, ITC, Sahara, Novatel, The Avatar for the internship of BHS students. Over the years students have got placed in Hotels and Cruises.

The college has state of the art facilities for teaching and learning processes. At the same time, the college actively encourages and promotes Add-on, extra-curricular and sports activities:

Milagres College is unique because it concentrates on character building through regular NSS activities which helps the student to inculcate social service to society.

The newly established NCC- Army wing has motivated our students to rise to greater heights.


Education through vegetation:

Through green initiative, the college grows vegetable using organic manure produced in the campus and the produce is sold and proceeds utilized to pay fees of poor students. Along with intellectual knowledge, they inculcate love for nature among our students. They have attempted to create green initiative by planting plants and vegetables.

    Good to know so many vareity of chances are for young People.At present in the aviation dept.Persons are very much needed.Aviation now cant operate more flights due to less Personnel.Due to corona many were sent home lost job ,now slowly people think to take up the flights but are not able to satisfy the passengers.
