Mangaluru: Vanamahotsava celebrated at SCS Preschools

Media Release

Mangaluru, Jul 23: SCS Preschools, Bikarnakatte and Kannur, Mangaluru, celebrated Vanamahotsava last week, under the slogan 'Save Trees, If You Care For Me'.

A series of activities like planting saplings in the school premises, distribution of saplings to the public, grain art, drawing and colouring competition, leaf collage were among the others conducted.

Both the staff and students took part in all the activities enthusiastically. While the school arranged for the saplings, the students too were encouraged to bring plants from their own gardens so that they experience the joy of sharing.

“It is wonderful to see how children truly enjoy learning about and spending time with nature. I sincerely urge parents to reduce screen time for children and involve them in nature friendly activities like gardening and outdoor games instead," said the principal of the school Vinaya D'Souza.

President of SCS Group of Institutions, Dr Rajneesh Sorake, a nature lover, involved himself in the activities and encouraged the students and staff to plant and grow trees.
