Mangaluru: Srinivas University organizes 'Vanamahosthava'

Mangaluru, Jul 28: Unnat Bharath Abhiyan Forum of Srinivas University in collaboration with the Srinivas Institute of Rural Reconstruction Agency (SIRRA) has organised the 'Vanamahosthava Programme' at Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayath Higher Primary school situated at Pavoor, DK which is one of the adopted village of Srinivas University under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Programme of MHRD, Govt of India.

The programme was inaugurated by planting saplings by the Pavoor Grama Panchayat Vice President Mohammed Ansar, Panchayat members Ravikala and Riyaz Ahmed, DKZPHP School Pavoor headmistress Rachel, Srinivas University Unnath Bharath Abhiyan co-ordinator Dr Pradeep MD, faculty convenor professor Joyson Prenky Cardoza, professor Sushmitha S Kotian, professor Shreeraj S Acharya and Research Scholar Shivaraj G.

About 19 students belonging to the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities studying MSW and BA Journalism and Mass Communication Courses along with 15 students of Bulbul and Guides from DKZPHP School Pavoor have planted more than 30 types of sapling'son the premise of the school and also cleaned the surroundings of the school.
